Bethanie Tabachnik
My name is Bethanie Tabachnik and I am a freshman at Emory University studying Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and minoring in Linguistics. I am originally from Cleveland, OH. I grew up bilingually, speaking Russian and English, as my parents are from Moldova. I also learned Hebrew for 8 years in grade school, and took 4 years of Spanish in high school, followed by a semester of college Spanish. I consider myself to be fluent in Russian and obviously English, and proficient in Spanish. For this project, I analyzed the benefits of multilingualism that extend beyond cognition, and why these benefits should be recognized.
